Negation (ne - ga - tion)

Negation occurs by placing "not" after the conjugated verb in a sentence.
In English we never use a double negative. (doesn't want nothing)

Simple Negation - "not"

She is not at school today.
We do not want to purchase the house.
John has not answered my question.

Negation in the form of a question.
	English	Contraction
	Can you not go?	Can't you go?
	How could she not go?	How couldn't she go?
	Will John not answer my question?	John won't answer my question?

Negation (special forms)
English
No one person stepped forward.
None stepped forward.
She ended up with nothing.
There was nowhere for him to go.
I'll never go with you.
She liked neither of them.
